“Diversity in State Government”

 

Shannon Pinto’s presentation at tedxgj2020 is “Diversity in State Government.” She’ll trace the history of Native Americans in state government and look at the challenges of implementing legislation. Other topics include the impact of establishing change and maintaining consistency and integrity about Native American issues.

Shannon is a state senator for New Mexico’s District 3, which encompasses a large part of the Navajo Nation in that state. She is a member of the Navajo Nation and is a former math teacher. She holds a degree in Financial Management from the University of New Mexico.
